Buffalo/Amherst Business and Professional Women (BPW) have two $500 scholarships available for women residing in either Buffalo or Amherst , who are currently enrolled in a degree program at a college or university in either Buffalo or Amherst , or related to a BPW Buffalo/Amherst member. Scholarships will be granted based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and career achievement. A letter from the applicant outlining the applicant's career objectives and two letters of recommendation must be provided. Interested women should complete an application, and if they have any questions, contact Amy Jo Lauber at 854-2500 x262. All applications are due by May 1st, 2008 and awardees will be contacted by June 1st. Scholarships will be distributed at the BPW meeting Thursday, June 12th, 2008. BPW is the leading advocate for working women. Its mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace, through advocacy, education and information.
