Who Are The Trailblazers? Career Development. Pay Equity. Scholarship Opportunities. Three of the many things young women should know about and often don’t know where to look to learn more and seek out the answers. Trailblazers, an online yahoo discussion forum, was inspired out of an initiative through BPW NYS to recognize the discrepancy in age within BPW locals and districts. The Trailblazers have one distinct mission: to increase the enrollment of women ages 21-30 in all BPW NYS locals and districts. The group will strategize new and creative ways to offer incentives to women below 30 to join, giving the possibility to grow, develop and mentor these young women across the board. The Trailblazers action plan is heavy duty and will focus on three core areas; event implementation, extensive advertising and pilot programs, one for example that will allow current members to link up with young individuals and network on personal, political and professional levels. Trailblazers will be meeting over the next year and will be keeping a tally on all districts.
